Our Top 5 service charge and ground rent arrears collection tips:

  1. Demand in accordance with the lease/transfer.
  2. Ensure the landlord/freeholder's name and address feature on each demand, this should not be a c/o address or Managing Agent address.
  3. Ground rent demands must be set out in accordance with Section 166 of Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002.
  4. Demands should be issued to the last known correspondence address for the resident.
  5. Where possible try and capture every known address, telephone number and email address for each resident.
